The birth chart does not describe who a person is. It describes the moment in time they were born and how their cycles unfold over a lifetime. The chart is a symbolic photograph of the sky at the instant of birth, and that photograph shows which functions are active, in what order they tend to develop, and where life calls for repetition, effort, flow, or adjustment. Nothing in the chart is static. Everything activates in time. There is a correspondence between the cycles of the cosmos and the cycles of human experience that we don't need to explain in order to recognise. Astrology, as we practise it here, is neither prediction nor fate — it is a practice of recognising patterns within something larger than we can name. The birth chart does not cause who you are. It reflects something you already live, and gives a name to what is often felt but cannot be said. That correspondence between sky and experience is consistent enough to be useful, and mysterious enough to deserve respect.
